I Used Codex to Build Amazon A+ Pages – Here is the SOP That Works Across Categories

Most people building Amazon A+ detail pages start with images. That makes sense on the surface. The image workflow feels concrete, the results look good, and it is easier to hand off to a designer than to figure out what the page should actually say.

But here is the problem with that approach. Images without a structure underneath them do not convert. They look nice in a portfolio. They do not move a buyer closer to clicking Add to Cart.

The real bottleneck on any Amazon product page is not how good the pictures look. It is whether you have figured out what to say, in what order, and why. That part is not glamorous and it does not show up in a portfolio. But it is what separates a page that sells from one that just looks pretty.

I ran the full process using a smart toilet as the case study. Real product, real materials: spec sheet, customer questions from the listing, common objections pulled from reviews. I handed all of it to Codex and worked through the workflow step by step. What came out the other side was not complicated, but it was structured in a way that actually made sense for a buyer.

Here is how the whole thing works.

Step One: Start With the Materials, Not the Visuals

Before touching anything visual, feed Codex the actual product materials. Spec sheets, FAQ responses, review highlights, anything that reflects how buyers describe the product in their own words.

The prompt: here is the product specification sheet and a collection of customer questions. Identify the five most mentioned concerns among buyers and rank them by frequency.

Most people skip this because it feels slow. It is not the exciting part. But the concern ranking that comes out of this analysis is the actual foundation of the entire page. Everything that follows builds on it.

Step Two: Connect Features to Concerns

Once you have the concern ranking, go through the product features and match each one to the concern it resolves.

The prompt: here are the product features and the top buyer concerns. For each concern, list the one feature that directly addresses it and explain the connection in plain language.

What you get is a feature-to-concern map. It tells you what to emphasize in each section, not just what features to list. That distinction matters.

Step Three: Build the Page Structure Around Buyer Logic

An Amazon A+ page is not a feature catalog. It is a decision journey. Each section should answer a question the buyer is actively thinking about at that point in their reading.

The prompt: here are the top buyer concerns ranked by frequency and the product features mapped to them. Suggest a page structure of 8 sections that follows the natural buyer decision sequence, from awareness to purchase commitment. For each section, state the buyer question it answers.

The sequence that usually emerges looks something like this: core value prop first, then the primary use case. Feature highlights tied to the top two concerns. A lifestyle scene that makes the product tangible. Detail shots that address the most common objections. Installation and compatibility information last, removing the final barrier before checkout.

Step Four: Write the Copy Before the Visuals

With the structure locked, move to copy. Each section needs a headline, two to three supporting sentences, and a specific visual brief.

The prompt: here is the section topic and the buyer question it answers. Write an English headline that is 10 words or fewer, two supporting sentences that speak directly to the buyer concern rather than describing the product in abstract terms, and a specific visual description for the image that should accompany this section.

Do this for every section before generating a single image. The copy and the visual brief stay linked, so the images that get generated actually match the message.

Step Five: Generate the Images Against Complete Briefs

Now, with complete briefs for all 8 sections, Codex produces the images.

The prompt: here are the visual briefs for all 8 sections of an Amazon A+ page. Generate each image according to its specific brief. Keep the visual style consistent across all sections.

What comes out are images that are aligned with the page structure, not just individually pretty.

The Part That Actually Scales

Here is where it pays off for the next product. Swap out the materials. The buyer concerns change. The feature-to-concern map changes. The page structure adjusts accordingly.

But the logic does not. Product materials feed the concern ranking. Concerns drive the sequence. The sequence determines what each section needs to communicate. Copy and images follow the brief.

The first product takes time. The second one goes faster because the thinking process is already built. That is the real value of running this workflow. Not the images, not the copy. The reusable logic that sits behind both.
